Comfort Mattress: A Better Bed for Less?
Comfort mattress promises exactly what its name implies and more. According to its website,
the company brings together tradition and innovative technology to produce mattresses that bring a restful sleep to its user as well as peace
of mind for the budget conscious. The company has more than 28 different types of mattresses that are purported to cater to the consumers’
varied preferences for comfort. This offers a wider array of options for users who are on a hunt for the perfect mattress that will suit their
needs.
About Comfort
Comfort was born in the 1980’s when brothers Mel and Marty Trudell decided that it was
time that they went beyond working for a mattress company and started their own business. The first factory in Santa Ana, California was
opened not long after. They worked towards establishing a reputation of excellence by providing high quality products at more affordable
prices. Through their expertise and careful budgeting, they were able to introduce a line of mattresses that were sold at relatively cheaper
prices.
Since then, Comfort has continuously grown until its operations expanded to several
different locations in California including Viejo, Fullerton, Orange and Anaheim Hills. The stores are still operated by a member of the
Trudell family so the manufacture of these mattresses is still one of their best-kept family secrets.
This may sound like a promising statement. A quick look at its line of mattresses will help
you decide on whether or not Comfort mattress is true to its claim.
Product lines
Comfort has produced over 28 different types of mattresses. It has just recently come out
with new additions to its product line. Among these are the Latex Comfort Series, Tradere Series, Quilt Series and the Pillow Plush
Series.
The Latex Comfort Series feature mattresses that are made of 100% latex rubber and are
designed to follow and adjust to the contours of the body. Lesser pressure is placed on the body so there’s no need to toss and turn just to
find a more comfortable position. The Tradere features mattresses that have firm inner springs and three layers of cotton upholstery. Pillow
Plush, on the other hand, has two layers of cotton upholstery and comes with a pillow top. Consumers can also choose from different firmness
levels ranging from medium to extra firm. For the budget conscious user, the Quilt series is composed of seven different and affordably priced
designs.
Consumer
Reviews
The good thing about the mattress by Comfort is that consumers are free to choose a level of
firmness that will suit them best. It was highly affordable compared to other mattresses. The only problem was with durability. There has been
some feedback about the Select Comfort Elite design’s ability to provide comfort for a long time. According to the user reviews, the product
was able to deliver as promised for the first two years or so. After that, the mattress has begun leaking air. It may probably be due to poor
maintenance but it did provide an added inconvenience to some users. In any case, there was still enough room for improvement for this
particular product. Hopefully, her new product line wouldn’t sprout the same problems.
For this, the Comfort mattress gets a score of three on a scale of one to five.
